They say hindsight is 20/20.
So, there I was taking a giant step in the direction of a permanent move from NYC to Florida without knowing it.
No.
I thought I was a fortunate young snowbird with a lovely condo in Boca and a beautiful apartment on the UES of NYC.
Warmer weather when it’s cold in New York, and perfect weather when it’s too hot in Florida.
Time with friends and family in the summer and fall, and a place to retreat to before the post-holiday blues set in.
But, not quite.
As I got the new condo set up, I realized something.
For the first time since I was away at college in Arizona over 20 years earlier, I could breathe.
I felt better with the space between me and NYC, me and my other half, and me and my family.
I felt better. I felt free.
Was this the beginning of a “new beginning”?
